a poem in free verse by evealle
I have a goal, a wish a dream,
But if I tell you, it wont be secret.
Im afraid to show my true heart to the world
For fear theyll laugh at my fanciful desires,
(Scorn my greatest hopes for my life).
And if they did that, I would feel foolish for my fantasies.
I would feel as if They had been correct,
As if I Had been foolish. But I promise you I havent!
Its very realistic, but theyve corrupted me to believe that theyre right.
However, if I did tell someone they could encourage me to push ahead.
I need the inspiration, thats for sure.
Could I tell you? Can I trust you will not scoff, throw my soul to the dust?
Scorn, that awful bullet, pierces the vulnerable me.
Could me courage, not condescension; Help, not horror; Spirit, not spite?
Can you keep a secret?
~~~~~~~
I had problems uploading it as a deviation, so I put it here instead.
Red, I feel my soul on fire!
Black, my world if she's not there!
Red, the color of desire!
Black, the color of despair!
